Energy Management students in hard hats

A UNIVERSITY FULL OF ENERGY

The University of Texas at Austin has fundamental ties to the energy industry and has built on that foundation to become a leading innovator across all energy sectors. Energy is our passion.

Creating a Talent Pipeline

The Undergraduate Energy Management Program (EMP) was launched in 2013 for students across all disciplines to pursue in parallel with a traditional degree. The program trains a skilled and knowledgeable pipeline of talent to meet the needs of the oil and gas exploration and production industry in the United States and across the world.

As a student, you will be exposed to expertise across UT’s business, geoscience, engineering, and law schools. In addition to interdisciplinary course work, students get field learning opportunities and networking with industry professionals from domestic and global companies.

Student Success Stories
My favorite class that I took as a member of the program was Energy, Technology & Policy, which taught me the history of energy, as well as global supply and demand drivers that impact our everyday life. This class introduced me to LNG, and I ultimately landed an internship role with Cheniere Energy, the top LNG exporter in the United States.
