Dr. Katie Pritchett is an award-winning educator and practicing business consultant who empowers others to lead with authenticity and resiliency. Dr. Prichett over 15 years of experience working at the intersection of education and business and on the cusp of innovation. As a valued member of the Texas Executive Education Team, she specializes in strategic innovation, change management, leadership coaching and approaches, and organizational effectiveness.
Dr. Pritchett has worked at the state-level, when she was elected to serve on the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, overseeing eight universities and representing over 84,000 students. She has federal-level experience working in Washington D.C. for the U.S. Department of Education in policy implementation for Federal Student Aid. Additionally, Dr. Pritchett has experience in the private sector, working for a Fortune 500 company in business development, and ultimately being appointed to lead the company’s cybersecurity offerings to protect student data through the largest IT consolidation contract with the U.S. Department of Education.
While these work experiences were formative, Dr. Pritchett made a decision to return to the world of higher education to pursue a doctorate so she could realize her passion of leading from the classroom and educating the next generation of leaders. She earned her Ph.D. in 2014 from The University of Texas at Austin and has taught at the McCombs School of Business between 2015-2021. Since 2021, she has been focused on delivering work direct to clients as the Director the Organizational Effectiveness team at Slalom, Inc, a global business and technology consulting firm.
She is an entrepreneur and is a co-founder of Engage Leadership Consulting, LLC. Some of her recent clients include SXSW EDU, the Texas Association of School Boards, Community Impact, and Habitat for Humanity.
Dr. Pritchett teaches courses in innovation and creativity, introduction to entrepreneurship, change management, design thinking, storytelling, employee experience, conflict resolution, and organizational behavior. She leverages her pedagogical expertise and research background to deliver high-quality experiential learning opportunities to her students because she holds tantamount that “learning by doing” is the most effective method to engage learners and make class applicable to life and business.. She also provides individualized executive and communications coaching.
