Biography
Dr. Christopher Burke is a Lecturer at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business where he teaches undergraduate and MBA courses in Operations Management, Program Management, Information Technology (IT) Management, and Procurement and Supplier Management. Chris’ teaching experiences include Assistant Professor of Logistics Management for the Graduate School of Logistics and Acquisition Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology and invited Lecturer to both the Brazilian Air Force Institute of Logistics at Sao Paulo and the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy of Logistics at Stavern. Chris is also a Manager at B3 Group directing professional services programs in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs IT infrastructure and operations as well as development of logistics courses for the Defense Acquisition University. Chris was a Project Manager at Dell Technologies leading global, cross-functional core teams as a certified Project Management Professional aiding business acquisition and transformation activities. Chris directed the Global Supply Chain Program Management Office establishing standard processes and procedures for managing projects across their life cycle milestones. Chris led the Global Operations Secure Supply Chain, ensuring alignment with government regulations for conducting business with federal agencies. Chris also worked on formulating optimization models aimed at analyzing excess and obsolete inventories. Prior to Dell, Chris served 27 years in the U.S. Air Force assigned to various aircraft maintenance, logistics, acquisition, and education career fields. Chris deployed to the Balkans for Operation JOINT GUARD, the Indian Ocean for Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and Iraq for both Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and NEW DAWN. Chris was a National Security Fellow in the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and earned his PhD in Production and Operations Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Chris holds Masters degrees in Acquisition Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology and Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University. His Bachelor degree is in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
