Derrick Bonyuet is a clinical assistant professor of accounting in the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, teaching accounting to graduate and undergraduate students.
He is a certified public accountant with more than 30 years of experience primarily in pricing, financial planning and analysis, accounting, tax and audit. A 25-year career with Dell EMC lead him to a variety of finance roles, and prior to that, he spent four years in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also holds the chartered financial analyst (CFA) and certified financial planner (CFP) designations.
He serves as the treasurer on the board of directors at Skillpoint Alliance, a workforce development organization in Central Texas. He also volunteers as a business mentor with SCORE Austin and has supported the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program since 1996.
He earned a Ph.D. in business administration from Oklahoma State University and holds master’s degrees in accountancy from Auburn University and international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He also earned an MBA in finance from the University of Houston and his B.S. in accounting from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela.
