Dima Shamoun is a clinical assistant professor of finance at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. She teaches managerial economics and microeconomics to students in the Executive MBA, Full-Time MBA, and undergraduate business programs.
Before joining McCombs, Shamoun taught economics and mathematics at Southwestern University and George Mason University. She was a principal investigator on research projects in the Center for Growth and Opportunity at the University of Utah as well as in the Institute for Humane Studies and the Mercatus Center at George Mason. Past research roles include associate director of research in The University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Politics and Governance.
She was editor of the anthology Economics of Ethics & Social Justice and was a co-editor on two macroeconomics anthologies. Shamoun has co-authored refereed articles in The Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology, The Journal of Health Physics, and others.
She earned Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. degrees in economics from George Mason University, where she also earned a B.A. in mathematics.
