Gregory Pogue is a management lecturer in the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and the deputy executive director and senior research scientist at UT’s IC2 Institute.

At the IC2 Institute, Pogue leads research, education, and implementation programs around technology commercialization, early venture creation, business and venture deal development, and entrepreneurship in more than 12 countries.

Pogue gained deep technology commercialization experience through senior positions in venture capital, entrepreneurial ventures, technology transfer offices, and as a scientific innovator himself. He has served as vice president or above in six startup enterprises. Of these, one realized a successful public offering on the Nasdaq Exchange, and a Fortune 500 company successfully acquired a second.

His experience as a scientist spans biologic regulation to clinical trial implementation and licensing, as evidenced by more than 65 original scientific articles and reviews and two orphan drug designations. He has more than 35 U.S. patents issued and pending and has been principal investigator on 16 competitive grants, totaling more than $25 million in funding.

Pogue earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in biology from Midwestern State University.
