Harsh Ketkar

Harsh Ketkar is an assistant professor of management at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. He teaches courses on entrepreneurship and management.

Ketkar’s research explores technology and innovation, artificial intelligence, organization design, human capital, and organizational knowledge. He focuses on performance trade-offs associated with using technologies and novel organizational forms in the context of human resource allocation and knowledge production. In his current work, he is studying how new technologies such as AI, algorithms, and robots affect organizational innovation and worker performance. His research has been published in Strategic Management Journal, and he has presented his work at international universities and at technology, entrepreneurship, and business conferences.

Prior to joining McCombs, Ketkar was an assistant professor of management and technology at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. He also has industry experience in strategic roles across various sectors, including automotive manufacturing, retail, and software.

Ketkar earned a Ph.D. in strategy at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science from the University of Pune in India.
