Joshua Fink is a management lecturer in the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and the senior director of data science for the San Antonio Spurs. He is a statistician, probabilistic programmer, and social scientist.

Fink’s interests include using modern Bayesian statistics and computational methods to better understand sports, social structure, and crime. He has presented his work across the U.S., in Berlin, and in Paris. His research was featured in an article in The Atlantic magazine.

Fink previously worked for the American Statistical Association as a law and justice research analyst, for the National Institutes of Health as a research fellow, and for the WZB Berlin Social Science Center as a data analyst. He was a teaching assistant for courses on markets and management studies at Duke University.

He earned a Ph.D. in sociology and an M.S. in statistical science from Duke University, and a B.A. in sociology from Pepperdine University.
