Joshua Kocher is a finance lecturer in the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches the Foundations of Finance course. Kocher has more than 20 years of experience as a trader and portfolio manager in liquid equity and fixed income strategies. His research interests span financial markets and financial literacy applications in the financial technology space.

Kocher is the founder and chief investment officer of MoveUp Financial LLC, an Austin- based asset management firm focused on delivering low-cost, intuitive, actively managed investment solutions, which he launched in 2020. Before he became an entrepreneur, Kocher worked as a portfolio manager at Innealta Capital in Austin and the alternative investment firm MKP Capital Management in New York.

He holds an MBA in finance from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia.
