Metin Sengul

Metin Sengul is a professor of management at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. He teaches courses on strategic management.

Sengul’s research focuses on the drivers of organization design choices in complex organizations, such as diversified companies, business groups, multinational companies, and dual-purpose companies. His work has been published in flagship organization design and strategy journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Management, and Strategic Management Journal. In addition to serving on multiple journal editorial boards, he serves as a senior editor for Organization Science.

Prior to joining McCombs, Sengul was on the faculty of Boston College for 16 years. He also worked as a consultant in the health care industry and co-founded an advertisement agency, where he served as a managing partner.

Sengul earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in management from INSEAD. He also received an M.S. in management from Texas A&M University and an M.S. and B.S. in industrial engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
