Robert Hammond is a clinical assistant professor at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He teaches executive education as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in decision science and business analytics. His research is focused on decision-making under uncertainty, probabilistic modeling and analysis, Bayesian learning and inference, and their applications in business, societal, and personal decision-making.

Hammond is also a consultant with Strategic Decisions Group. His consulting experience spans the energy, mining, agriculture, technology, and pharmaceutical industries and includes such topics as corporate strategy, investment evaluation, asset optimization, and process design. He helps senior managers by bringing structure to messy problems, quantifying uncertainty, and producing insights by combining expert knowledge with data.

He was previously a manager of data science and quantitative analysis with RBN Energy and a decision analyst with Chevron.

Hammond holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in operations research and a B.S. in electrical engineering, all from UT.
