Vijay was born in India but moved to the US for his graduate studies. He has multiple graduate degrees and a PhD. He then joined IBM in Austin 1989. He left IBM in 2008 to run a startup in Austin. Following that, he joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2011 as a Business Development Executive. Currently he manages 3rd party software sales for the Americas. Vijay has been teaching Undergraduate and Graduate students at various institutions since 1998.

In his spare time he enjoys flying planes and on his 737 simulator at home
