Board Fellows places selected MBA students on the boards of directors of Austin-area nonprofit organizations as non-voting board members for one year. The program gives students the opportunity to learn and participate in the fiduciary, oversight, and strategic planning responsibilities of a board, while contributing their time and business skills to benefit the local community.

The Center for Leadership and Ethics (CLE) Fellows program offers students an opportunity to accelerate their leadership education and experience the mentorship of first-year study teams as they start the MBA program. Fellows gain effective coaching skills, learn how to adjust for high versus low performing teams, sharpen their conflict resolution skills and learn how to effectively give and receive candid feedback. For students interested in the ever-growing world of clean tech, the CleanTech Fellows program offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see industry operations from the inside. Spend 10-15 hours/week working, studying, and connecting with the clean tech company of your choice.

Health Innovation Fellows offers select students a focus on innovation and leadership in the healthcare industry. The program consists of a two-semester speaker series with leading healthcare professionals from Austin and the U.S., along with a one-semester practicum component where each Fellow is placed with a company in the healthcare industry.

Sharpen your marketing acumen by joining the Center for Customer Insight and Marketing Solutions (CCIMS) Marketing Fellows Program–where a marketing-specific curriculum and real-world marketing consulting projects will empower you with the theoretical know-how and practical skills to exit the Texas McCombs MBA Program as a savvy marketing expert.

Operations Fellows are committed to pursuing leadership in the function areas of Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Information Management. The program provides select MBA students the opportunity to develop their management and leadership skills through a comprehensive integrated learning opportunity.

The Venture Fellows Program places students as interns in local venture capital and private equity firms while providing a unique venture capital focused curriculum taught by industry professionals to complement the hands-on experience. Only 15-20 elite Texas McCombs MBA students will be selected to participate in this two-semester program. As a Venture Fellow, you will gain experience in analytical and financial analysis, deal sourcing, and operations and will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best PE and VC firms in the nation.

The MBA Investment Fund, L.L.C. is the first legally constituted, private investment company to be managed by students. The Fund is a limited liability company registered under the laws of the State of Texas. It was created to enable Texas McCombs MBA students to obtain real-world experience in the process of managing investment portfolios and in developing relationships with clients. The Fund has approximately 40 investors and $17 million under management in three different investment products: a growth-oriented equity portfolio and a value-oriented equity portfolio, which are managed for individual and institutional clients, and a balanced endowment portfolio, which supports the activities of the AIM Investment Center.

McCombs is the only business school in the country where selected students have the opportunity to manage both public and private real estate investment funds. The REIT Fund began in 2007, and the Private Equity Fund was launched in 2016. Experience on the Real Estate Fund gives MBA students responsibility for a multi-million-dollar fund. Select MBA students serve as equity managers, with undergraduates as analysts handling the fund's day-to-day operations. Students participate in all aspects of the investment process, including underwriting and closing, asset management, and reporting, through the disposition of funds. Faculty members and an Advisory Board act as mentors and guide students in their investment underwriting and analysis, while an outside Investment Committee continually oversees the fund performance.
