Cohort Experience
The collaborative and engaged student culture of the MBA program at Texas McCombs is by design. Before your first day,you’ll be placed into a Cohort –a group of MBA peers with whom you’ll navigate the core curriculum. The cohort model fosters a shared experience among students and open dialogue within the classroom. -
Study Teams
Within your cohort, you’ll be matched up with a Study Team of 4 to 6 other students in your first year, each of whom bring different backgrounds and strengths to the group. You’ll work together and learn from each other as you tackle class assignments and business challenges.

Rowling Hall
You'll take classes at Rowling Hall, home of the Texas McCombs MBA program on The University of Texas at Austin campus. Opened in 2018, this state-of- the-art facility, located on the southwest corner of campus just 10 blocks from downtown Austin, is designed with your education in mind. Classrooms, meeting rooms, presentation spaces, career management offices, technology labs—all in one beautiful building. -

MBA Student Organizations:
- Graduate Women in Business (GWiB) - Graduate Women in Business strives to improve the visibility of women at McCombs, to offer career development resources to members, provide opportunities for members to enhance the skills they need to remain competitive in the marketplace, be an informational resource for prospective McCombs students, assist organizations serving women in its community, connect its members to articles and news stories that are related to women's issues in the workplace, and promote a spirit of camaraderie among its members and women in the business community. Graduate Women in Business also helps to organize the annual Women in Business Leadership Conference.

Partnerships:
- Forté Foundation - The mission of the Forté Foundation is to launch women into fulfilling, significant careers through access to business education, professional development, and a community of successful women. If you are a candidate considering an MBA, the Forté Foundation offers several resources to learn about the value of an MBA and prepare for the application process, including Forté Forum events, Pre-MBA Webinars, and the Forté MBALaunch program. Texas McCombs has been a school partner of the Forté Foundation since its founding. All students and alumni are encouraged to join Forté as a free member.

- Forté MBA Fellowship - Forté Fellowships are prestigious, competitive awards that are recognized within the business school community and beyond. Forté Fellows exhibit exemplary leadership, represent diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate a commitment to advancing women in business.
MBA Parental Accommodations:
- The Texas McCombs MBA program provides support to students who become parents while enrolled in the program. The MBA Program Office works with each student to balance the demands of pregnancy, adoption, and/or new parenthood with the responsibilities of academic life. - Black Graduate Business Association (BGBA) - Founded in 1985, the Black Graduate Business Association is built on the achievements of its membership. BGBA members represent a variety of academic concentrations and political, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Members' business interests range from the public to the private sector, entrepreneurship, and national and international markets in various areas of the business world. As a professional organization of predominantly Black and African American students pursuing an MBA or Ph.D., BGBA's purpose is to provide a nexus through fellowship to broaden, enhance, and promote the successful futures of its members.

- Latin American and Hispanic MBA Association (LAHMBA) - The mission of the Latin American and Hispanic MBA Association (LAHMBA) is to enhance the Hispanic American and Latin-American student MBA experience by providing additional tools to develop professional, academic, and social development. LAHMBA facilitates job search functions, helps build a contact network, promotes McCombs as a top business schoo, and provides exposure with recruiters.

- Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM) - The Consortium is an alliance of top business schools and business organizations committed to enhancing diversity and inclusion in business education and leadership by striving to reduce the significant underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans in business. The McCombs School of Business has been a proud partner of the Consortium since 1984.
- Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) - Launched in 2002, MLT is a national nonprofit working to transform the leadership pipelines of leading business schools and organizations. MLT equips high-achieving individuals from underrepresented communities - Black, Latinx, and Native American - to realize their full potential, make a mark, and make a difference. The MLT MBA Prep Program prepares business school candidates for the MBA application and corporate recruiting process.
- Admit.me - McCombs is a partner of the Admit.me Access program, which provides free MBA prep resources to underrepresented minorities and women applying to business school.

- Consortium Fellowships & Scholarships - Candidates who apply through the Consortium are considered for full-tuition and partial scholarships. All U.S. citizens and permanent residents (regardless of race or ethnicity) who have demonstrated a commitment to increasing the representation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans are eligible for Consortium membership.

MBA Student Organizations:
- eQual MBAs - Engaged, Queer, and Ally (eQual) MBAs is a student-led social and career networking group for MBAs who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning, or just a friend or supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. eQual MBAs works to promote awareness of the LGBTQ+ community among current and prospective students at McCombs and to keep affiliated alumni connected to the organization. Additionally, the group provides its members with networking opportunities with companies that seek to recruit LGBTQ+ employees.

- Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) - Reaching Out MBA's mission is to increase the influence of the LGBT+ community in business by educating, inspiring, and connecting MBA students and alumni.
MBA Scholarship Awards or Fellowships
- ROMBA Fellowship - The ROMBA LGBT+ Fellowship is a joing effort between prominent business schools and Reaching Out to develop the out LGBT+ and active ally business leaders of tomorrow. Each Fellow receives a minimum $20,000 scholarship and access to exclusive leadership programming. Texas McCombs is proud to have been an inaugural school partner of the ROMBA Fellowship program.

MBA Student Organizations:
- Texas Veterans in Business (TVIB) - TVIB fosters camaraderie among MBA students who previously served, or continue to serve, in any nation's armed forces. The organization focuses on drawing parallels between the principles learned in the military and the skills required to be successful in business. TVIB maintains relationships with other ex-military MBAs at top business schools around the country and provides information to current or ex-military applicants.
