OVERVIEW

Corporate sponsors are invited to participate in IM Program events, which provides them the opportunity to connect with students and promote their company.  If you are a corporate sponsor, please refer to the information below to help you understand how sponsors are involved in each event, and how your company can most effectively appeal to students.  If you have any additional questions, please contact our office at IROMIMProgram@mccombs.utexas.edu.

 

MIS BBA ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

MIS 333K Competition

  • Support team awards for first and/or second place winners and presentation at the awards ceremony
  • Logo on the MIS Bridge website and on all K Project print materials for the K Project. 

MISA Company Nights

  • Send representative from your company to network with BBA students majoring in MIS
  • Interact with MIS students in a small, intimate setting
  • Logo on the MIS Bridge website and all collateral materials

 

MSITM ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Capstone Project

  • Host company tailored project
  • Opportunity to meet with small group of students 
  • Recognition on all promotional materials including website, email communications and marketing materials
  • Opportunity to provide company handouts and giveaways

Tech Ops Case Competition

  • Provide judges for competition
  • Provide business case for competition (optional)
  • Logo and company spotlight on event website

  • Other representatives welcome to attend case competition
  • Networking opportunity at opening reception/dinner

Company Trek

  • Send students concentrating in IM to network and tour company facilities

IM PROGRAM EVENTS

Each year, the IM Program hosts a variety of events where students and company representatives can connect inside and outside the classroom. Students showcase their individual charisma and talent, and corporate sponsors provide valuable council to some of the brightest student minds as they begin to explore the corporate world. Whether you are a student, corporate partner or alumni, there are many ways to get involved with this nationally ranked program.

MIS INFORMATION SESSION

This event occurs each fall and spring semester. A 1-hour event targeting freshmen and undeclared students, the MIS Info Session has recent graduates and alumni from a diverse field of industry and consulting come to  speak to students concerning the ways in which MIS has affected their career and what opportunities it holds for them after school.

MIS/IT COMPANY FIELD TRIP 

Students spend a day visiting companies and learning more about their inner workings. Companies get a unique opportunity to showcase their culture and brand to students that are looking for opportunities post graduation.

COMPANY NIGHTS

The Management of Information Systems Association (MISA) at McCombs School of Business is a collection of students interested in careers relating to Information Technology. MISA helps to develop the future IT leaders of tomorrow by offering students opportunities to hold leadership positions within the organization. Company Night allows sponsors the opportunity  to educate students on employment opportunities and general information about their company.
